The Chief’s Diary: Social Protection is a Principal Ethos of the SLPP
I had a good meeting today with Mr. Kokefele, the Executive Director of the National Social Protection Authority – “responsible to regulate, coordinate, facilitate, promote, monitor and evaluate social protection delivery in Sierra Leone”.
The institution is new but stands on very detailed strategic documents and plans for pur people. The SLPP is a social democratic party and we always build institutions that cater for the poor and the vulnerable. We established the National Social Security Trust, the National Commission for Social Action and more recently the NSPA to ensure a more coordinated approach to social protection.
We do so, yes to strength institutions, but primarily because as a political party, we are formed to promote justice and equity. Together #WeAreDelivering.
