The Chief’s Diary: How today Feb 25th 2026 became a day of service across Sierra Leone
Today, in celebration of my birthday, hundreds of young people and stakeholders engaged in diverse community service and almsgiving activities right across the country. Most of these resources were contributed from within the community. Labor was voluntary and everything else was handled by members of the Radical Inclusion Movement. Below are a few examples – many others did other acts of service they wanted anonymous:
Kabala- local volunteers cleaned public spaces
Pujehun- local volunteers cleaned public spaces and fed imams
Bombali- sutures and other medical items donated to the hospital in my name. Used to save lives
Kenema- local volunteers cleaned public spaces including the Party Office area
Moyamba- students cleaned public spaces and fed school children in Njala
Freetown- volunteers donate food and other items to 22 mosques across the city
At the same time, people came from Kailahun, Kenema, Karene, and more to bring me gifts – vegetables, cake (I received over a dozen) and cards.
In the evening, we had drinks and ate at an amazing local restaurant on Kingharman Road – Mobonde!
I remain firmly convinced that together #WeWillDeliver!
READY.
Ps- I have over 2,000 messages on my phone and hundreds of tags and such online. I am sorry if I didn’t get to your message yet. I love you all!
Pps- we now look forward to be big one next year. I am prepared, able and ready!
